We’ve seen Eva Longoria in Gerard Darel a few times, nay, more than a few times, but this Gerard Darel bag in a brown-and-white cow print one of her more eccentric picks. I’m not condemning her use of animal print, not at all. Rather, I adore it! We’ve seen a bevy of celebs turning back towards leopard print, but Eva’s going against the grain by choosing cow.

A rather clunky animal to the leopard’s stealth, one might be confused by why use cow print. That’s an easy question for me to answer: most prints are fairly uniform. Cow, however, is not. It’s funky and uneven and quirky, and absolutely adds another layer to Eva’s otherwise sleek and sophisticated ‘fit.

And clearly Darel’s magic has been working, because here the Desperate Housewives star was spotted going into the Gerard Darel store, presumably to pick up a new purse. We’re seeing the bags carried more and more by Eva these days. I may even conjecture that it looks like here favorite handbag designer is shifting from Gustto to Gerard Darel, so which do you prefer?

Oh goodness, I’ve got to stop making these title puns. But it’s funny! And appropriate. You see, the Kardashian sisters (and Scott) all went to dinner at STK Restaurant, and Kim carried this awesome Black Chloe Shelby Tote, except her sister’s name is Khloe, as in Chloe… so there you go. It works.

Minor digression, I apologize. Back to the whirlwind of fun and drama that is the Kardashian sisters. Need the Sparksnotes version of the drama? Khloe Kardashian just tied the knot with Lamar Odom, Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant and seems to be hanging around with slimy Scott an awful lot, and Kim Kardashian… well, Kim is Kim. Yes, my friends, that’s a good old family adventure.

But here they all look their fabulous selves, especially Kourt, who keeps turning out incredibly stylish bun-in-the-oven looks. And I can’t quite get a good look at the bag, but from the chain strap I have a hunch that it might be the Charlie My Love Cheyenne Fringe Bag she’s been seen with lately. It seems like I’ve seen these pictures before. Maybe it’s because last time we saw Angelina Jolie, she was also with child(ren), and she also had an all-black ensemble. Except last time she was sporting a Gucci Guccissima leather duffel, while here she’s accessorized with a Julie K Jules Weekender Tote. Oh, and last time little Maddox was with her, but this time it’s Shiloh and Zahara!

I miss seeing Angelina in the movies. Sadly enough now it seems that we only see her in paparazzi photos with her children, wearing all black. Perhaps she’s living the domesticated life now, and that I can respect. I mean, being in movies isn’t everything. So even though I miss her on screen, I’m glad that she’s taking time off screen to spend with her massive family.

But one thing I don’t like so much? All this black. Sure, it can look chic, but do the same look over and over and it can begin to get morbid and boring, even though with black you can’t go wrong. Her Julie K tote is a tiny, tiny breath of fresh air, because it’s cute and textured, but I’d pair it with a slightly more colorful outfit. Are you listening, Angie? Take a risk! Wear some blue! Or pink, or purple, or even yellow…

Oh, Sorority Row. I haven’t seen it, but from what I’ve heard it seems to be one of those horror movies with a main objective to showcase sexy girls screaming in minimal clothing. Preferably accessorized with blood. But that’s a digression, because we here at Bag That Style cover real bags. Not just half-naked sorority girls writhing in blood.

But the film itself garnered quite a few celebs at the premiere, among them Rumer Willis and Brianna Evigan, who wore Moschino and carried a gold Judith Leiber box clutch. Costar Rumer looked pretty snazzy in her Stella McCartney ensemble, I’d say. A friend of mine thinks that she looks “a little goth” sometimes, but here I’d say she didn’t cross the line. Well, that could be Stella’s doing.

And finally we have Demi Moore in Oscar de la Renta. Very ladylike and safe. I guess she’s part of the camp that likes to wear black on black with a splash of black, because it’s rare that we see her in a real color. I guess she should call up Angelina Jolie, huh? Their closets together could probably clothe the entire island of Manhattan. But I’m a bit disappointed with Demi’s plain little clutch, and I can’t ID it. Can you?

Let’s just say I’d die to be Emma Watson right now. Let’s see: Ivy League student, check (and Brown probably wins all the sports cups over Columbia, because we’re… well, we need some work), Burberry spokesmodel, check, and… Oh right. Ability to act as though she has magical powers, courtesy of J.K. Rowling, check.

And here’s the supergirl herself at Burberry Prorsum’s Spring 2010 Show, because hey, it’s worth jetting across the pond and missing school for London Fashion Week, isn’t it? That’s meant to be a rhetorical question because it is worth it. Especially when you get to wear a super Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 dress and matching Burberry shoes from the same collection. Let’s just stop for a moment and admire this whole look. I adore the metallic, crispy texture that the minidress has, and the way that the fierce delicacy contrasts the chunky black heels is pure genius. Applause, please! And her gathered leather clutch? It’s Burberry, of course.

And you thought that the best thing they had was that checkered pattern, right? Clearly, not so much. Even though Emma did arrive to the show with a classic Burberry trench to cover up. I’ve got to get myself one of those.

Well, not quite so much pink, but magenta. Despite the fact that she is a fictional character, Carrie Bradshaw is quite the style icon, which has catapulted Sarah Jessica Parker to the top of the fashion totem pole. That’s not to say that actress and character have the same style; they most definitely do not. But they do seem to agree on one thing.

Bright, loud magenta bags. SJP has been toting a hot pink Bottega Veneta tote recently, and even Carrie has been seen with a salmon shaded Christian Louboutin hobo. But perhaps Patricia Field prefers the bold look on Carrie- case in point: Carrie’s ever-present shoulder flower- so she’s gone with the magenta Tod’s Bauletto Helmut Bag in Python to complement a starry dress and crazy lace-up Anne Demeulemeester high-heeled sandals on the set of Sex and the City.

And it works quite well, even if I’m not the largest fan of the lace-up booties. I’ll offer this much: if Carrie’s wearing it, it may work stylistically or it may not. But either way, she took the plunge, and who doesn’t need a little bit of bravery in fashion?

Now this, this is what Gossip Girl is all about. Opulence in the form of crazy beading, jewels, fancy capelets that have no real use, and more beading. Or in the case of Chace Crawford, it’s about wearing a pinstriped pant, a dotted jacket, and a brown fedora all at once and still looking incredibly hot.

Of course, opulence in Gossip Girl often takes a bit of a different appearance, but this is what’s lurking inside those newfangled designer outfits. Tonight a new episode airs, featuring a 1920s-themed Halloween party, which really shows us how our favorite characters would dress had they lived in the 1920s. Little Jenny, aka Taylor Momsen, is wearing a zoot suit! And you thought they couldn’t get much more over-the-top, right?

Here we have Blake Lively as Serena in an itty-bitty beaded dress and capelet carrying a gold beaded that I’m not having much luck identifying, but I’m almost not disappointed in myself because the overall image is so completely, outrageously, ridiculously excessive and I do love it. I really do. Now if you excuse me, I have to run and buy a Halloween costume, because this idea is brilliant.

You see, I like fringe. Last year, when that Native-American trend was all the rage and Miley Cyrus practically lived in her fringed Minnetonkas, I went that way too. So it is only natural that I think that Kylie Minogue, that talented Australian diva, looks utterly rockin’ in these photos.

She’s wearing a really, really over the top Maison Martin Margiela Sheepskin Gilet, which looks striking on her but would probably make anyone else look as though they were wearing a sack of feathers. An expensive sack of feathers, that is. Well, let’s just say that Victoria Beckham could pull it off too and leave it at that.

Now, this is where most celebs go wrong. They’ve got one statement piece and then they add another. And you know just as well as I that that spells Disaster, with a capital D. But Kylie clearly follows by the book in terms of statement pieces, as she smartly tones down her wild coat with a slightly metallic charcoal Yves Saint Laurent Easy Bag. That Yves Saint Laurent bag, fraught with a simple elegance, has brought that entire outfit back down to earth. It’s made the whole look, I don’t know, easy?

Does anyone else see that? Big Carries, as is Big and Carrie, you know, from Sex and the City… and I’ve ruined it. Ah well. It happens. Speaking of ruining, let’s check out Big’s bag here. I mean, Chris Noth’s bag. Sometimes it is just more fun to call actors by their character names, don’t you think? And who doesn’t want a Big? Actually, scratch that. I’m not sure many women would like to be left at the altar, wearing Vivienne Westwood, no less.

Ah well. The Sex and the City women are so much the center of fashion and style attention that the boys don’t get recognition where recognition is deserved. Take Big’s omnipresent suit. It can get a little boring, sure, but it’s always well-tailored and well-fitting.

So back to Chris’s messenger. It has that wonderful worn look that every hipster-intellectual wants but apparently can’t quite get because Chris has stolen it from right under their noses. And I love it, but I can’t figure out what it is. A classic Coach? Do you know? And as for the rest of his outfit, let’s just say that that casual look is a plus, as long as you don’t stare at those shoes for too long.

In the Twilight world, things are hopping. The second installment of the hit saga, New Moon, comes to theaters November 20. Only a mere two months until we get to see Taylor Lautner shapeshift into possibly the most beautiful wolf of all time. I mean, he has to rip his shirt off to shift effectively, so I am not against it at all. Who would be?

Furthermore, the third film, Eclipse, is scheduled for release in June of 2010. And that, my friends, is currently filming in Vancouver, and that is where we meet Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser jumping all about town.

Apparently they’ve been doing a lot of shopping; clearly not for bags though, because they are each carrying their tried-and-true favorites: Nikki’s toting her grey Coach Spectator Sabrina and Elizabeth’s got her midnight blue Stella McCartney hobo. And you tell me, is this from Stella’s collection for LeSportSac? It sure looks like it, though I can’t find visual proof. But I guess Elizabeth’s going all “vegetarian” in terms of handbag choice- kind of like her character, Esme. Ah, success! An entire post has gone by and I haven’t confused an actor with their vampire/wolf counterpart.
